Nice Place but holy cow is the service way under par. We waited 20 minutes in line to order (only 4 people in front of us) and then another 20 minutes for our sandwiches. The food was good but Jimmy Johns is good and they just built 7 new sub shops while we waited for our food :). Not to my amazement, we watched two sets of customers enter, wait for a few minutes and then leave because of the length of time and the lack of movement in the line. Multiply that by 3 meals a days because they serve breakfast as well and 6 or 7 days a week, and that's a lot of lost business!!! I hope they can improve the productivity because it was a cute place and the food was good once we got it; guess I will have to take the afternoon off the next time I want to grab a bite to eat there!

My sister and I, from Seattle, always enjoy good coffee and a good coffee shop experience. While visiting family in Waseca we searched for a good coffee shop. Not knowing yet of the Daily Grind, our first try landed us in Owattona at a coffee roaster/cafe. It exeeded our expectations by far- VERY recommended.
Upon our discovering of the Daily Grind yesterday, we tried it. Beyond the deco, which was good, it became my worst coffee experience ever; it was my sisters second worst. The regular iced 16oz americano, which was VERY weak, tasted like it was ran through an old gym sock that sat in a high school locker all season long. Thinking they just accidentally made it wrong, I returned to exchange the drink, I received a double shot version from a different employee. This tasted like it was ran through two gym socks. I tasted my sisters iced decaf skim latte. This coffee tasted like the beans were purchased from an estate sale of a 109 year old house and then set on a shelf at the Daily Grind for 8 months. Her second coffee was also just a stronger version of the same painful thing.
On top of the awful coffee, no pun here, the lids on the first drinks leaked easily if the coffee reached the brim of the cup- this is inevitable. This is very annoying if you are borrowing a relatives car and want to keep it clean. We got different-shaped lids on the second coffees, these leaked even more. At this point I didnt have the energy to return again for a third exchange so we ended up throwing it all away when we got to the shopping center. I usually just drink mediocre coffee, but this was certainly an exception.

Honestly, this is one of the BEST coffee shops around. The food is wonderful - try the tuna melt on harvest grain - to DIE for! Whole bean coffee is amazing and the staff is so friendly. Kudos to The Daily Grind!
