I have been there many a time and am always happy with my choices. They give free samples so you can find the one you will enjoy. My favorites are the port and the blueberry apple.
On the weekends they have live music to relax by.
If you have family or friends with that are not wine drinkers they have a Starbucks outlet in the main building.
The grounds are enjoyable to walk. They also have family bike you can use to ride around in as well as a LARGE outdoor chess set to play with.
And do not forget the grape stomp in September. Fun, fun, fun for everyone! Food, arts and crafts and free fresh air.
This is Minnesota, after all: While I've heard great things about the wines under their previous wine master, we were less than impressed after a visit in May of 2006. The peach chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon were good but everything else was subpar. Overly dry Chardonnay, too sweet apple wines, and a cuvet that tasted like cough syrup. Still...an interesting spot to visit if you're in the Alexandria area. We ended up buying a bottle of the peach chardonnay.
Excellent: A place to taste test wine, look around the stables, and meet people. This is great !!
