I had an audaciously horrible dinner experience Saturday night. I thought it would be a nice treat to take daughter to a nice restaurant for dinner while husband went out hunting and though we had a fabulous time, I was extremely disappointed in the food and service.
It started out well, my daughter was given a coloring book and a ton of crayons; the waiter was attentive... at first, and we were having fun.
We placed our order and I waited for my dinner salad and our rolls to come... and I waited... and I waited... and they never came... I mean we NEVER got them. It took over an hour to get our main course (about 45 minutes after we ordered) and it was luke warm and it didn't fill me up.
I only received one refill of my pop and that's because he finally came to give us our main course. I ran out of pop half way through the meal and he never checked in on us, not once.
The bill finally came and on it was a charge for the enhanced salad, I NEVER GOT. So I got that fixed. My main dish was over $18 and was to come with salad... that I never got; and it was to come with bread... that I never got; and I expected it to fill me up... which it didn't.
Daughter and I had great quality time together and she's to young to understand just how terrible the service was. I expected more and was horribly disappointed. The total cost of the dinner was over $30... that was for one adult meal, one kids meal and one pop. Thank goodness I was paying with a gift certificate that I received as a gift.
Had the steak, it was great, melted in my mouth, get it ala Weston for an exquisite taste of perfection. Had the pasta, and went back for more. Just an all around excellent experience, the staff pays close attention to detail, and the orders are filled exactly how they are ordered. I recommend going over Mardi Gras, or Ocktober Fest to taste some of specialty dishes. Its the best restaurant west of New York, and east of LA!!
I have never had such a great restaurant experience in all my life! The carpacchio appetizer was to die for. Then I had the special salad. It was the best salad I have ever had. As the meal went on I became happier and happier. I crave it until I get to go back.
