The easiest way: drive on the scenic Bayside Drive from Newport Bay. The locals' favorite way is to bike along the line of million-dollar homes on Goldenrod Avenue. Right above the gulch, the two sections of Goldenrod Avenue are connected by the historic Goldenrod Footbridge. Built in 1928 for $10,884, the bridge was meant to provide easy access to the beach.
