Hubbard Park is probably the biggest park in the area. It has a huge lake with fountains in it, a bird island [you can feed them], they have a nice playground, there's also a pond, a few creeks, two waterfalls. The larger one is fantastic to take pictures in front of. There's a big huge field, lots of trees, a bandstand, hiking trails up to castle creig. This place is decorated during the holiday season [[late november to late jan.]]. It's pretty sweet. Mostly white lights though. It's a great place to take younger kids.
Mirror Lake, the one with the fountains, is not "huge", but Merrimere is located in Hubbard Park, and is a beautiful body of water with an Island!
It is a reservoir for the city of Meriden.
well megan you are a hundred percent right but back 2 years ago when the other megan wrote this page its was like that... so she is right and u r right.....i dont know why i am settling someone elses problem....i feel like some sort of priest......ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Hubbard park does NOT have a huge lake. In fact, there are no lakes at Hubbard park. There is a pond. One pond. And one waterfall. And that waterfall is covered in trash.
I DO A PAPER ROUTE AROUND HUBBARD PARK EVERY NIGHT, WE ARE FROM NEW HAVEN CT, AND WE HAVE FANTASY OF LIGHTS, BUT HUBBARD PARK PUT NEW HAVEN TO SHAME. PLUS HUBBARD PARK IS FREE, I WOULD RATHER PAY FOR HUBBARD PARK THEN THE NEW HAVEN FANTASY OF LIGHTS. HUBBARD PARK GETS A+ IN MY BOOK. I TELL EVERYONE IN NEW HAVEN ABOUT HUBBARD PARK.
