Has to be the WORST theaters in the Tampa Bay area, actually mighit be the worst movie theagter experience I have ever had in the entire country, I travel alot for work. On occasion I go here because I have friends that live in CHannelside...not any more...the last 6 times I have gone over the past year it has just been one horrible experience after another.
- no known management on premises, just plain clothed people who claim to be management.
-rude, obnoxious, no customer service skills from everyone employed..this is NO exaggeration..from the ticket person, who is sometimes a plain clothed person, to the ticket taker, to the concessions.
-dirty, dirty , dirty...bathrooms, theaters, concessions, westshore pizza area, counters...just very bad, id like to look up there health code violations.
For now on its Centro Ybor for movies when i visit friends at Channelside.
We took our family of 7 to see "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the 3D IMAX experience." This is how this movie is being advertised on the Channelside website. Well, it is NO 3D experience like you would think. Only the first 12-15 minutes were in 3D. We were under the assumption that the whole feature would be 3D, like "Monsters Vs. Aliens". Had we known that the remainder of the movie was a normal movie, not in 3D...we could have saved $35.00 (We spent $91....family of 7). We felt it was dishonest advertising on the movie part...but also by Channelside. A disclaimer...or pointing out "Harry Potter...first 15 minutes in 3D!!!!" would have helped with our decision to see the movie. When we decided to talk to the manager...he came out in normal street clothes, all sweaty like he had just been out on a jog. We told him our concerns and he rudely interrupted us and said he "...couldn't control how they filmed the movie, what did we want him to do about it?" with an arrogant attitude. We were absolutely floored. He were only expecting maybe an apology and possibly a refund in the amount of a discount...or perhaps some free movie tickets to come back at a later date. He argued with us for about 5 minutes telling us that he knew that the movie was only 15 minutes of 3D but, they didn't have to tell us that and that they were discouraged to do so. That to me seems incredibly dishonest and faulty advertising. It's unethical. We finally convinced him to give us 7 free movie passes for a later date because we were so upset with his attitude.
I would not recommend this theater due to the complete disregard for common courtesy and the unprofessional attitude shown by management staff.
Just watched my first 3D movie!! It was awesome....
Channelside theaters has lobby bar and 3D technology...I won't ever go to another theater. I can grab some Westshore Pizza and a Beer and watch movies just like I'm at home!!
