Long wait to get served. 1 order lost. Served the wrong sides. Meat average quality. Size steak average. Over rated overall. Not equal to chain steak houses like Out Back.
Rayâs has good steaks at very reasonable prices, but if youâre looking for a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Other reviews provide ample feedback on the food (which is goodâ¦be sure to try the crab bisque if you decide to go), so Iâll just cover the elements that had a negative impact on my time at Rayâs.
Expect to fight through the crowd waiting at the door to add your name to the waiting list, and donât be surprised when the shockingly rude and condescending hostesses are irritated that they have to interact with you. Technically, the restaurant âdoesnât take reservations,â but seating times for the day are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Most people arrive hours before and request specific dining times (not a reservation?), so if you just show up when youâre ready to eat, youâre likely to wait two hours (three to four hours on a Friday or Saturday) before getting a table. Parking, ambiance and décor are non-existent, and although your food will come out very quickly (really, youâll be surprised), you are expected (and reminded) to eat quickly and make room for waiting patrons.
This is about the fifth trip there and it's always great. The best steaks I've had, at any price. It's small and hard to get a table but worth the wait. Don't change a thing! See you next time I'm in town.

You must be retarded. This is the best place in the tri-state area. Service was slow because it was so packed. With their new location that problem is gone. Their food rivals $100 steaks at restaurants like A1 and is better than Ruth's Chris. Go ahead and enjoy outback, less of a wait for me (and everyone else I know).
