My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. We told them it was our anniversary and they sat us at a very romantic table away from everyone else and even put a candle in our dessert and wished us a happy anniversary. The overall experience was fantastic.
A winner without a doubt: This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Memphis, and has been since the first time I went. I was skeptical that first time, I will admit. A restaurant where you have to cook your own food? Little did I know!
I have NEVER had anything bad there. Service is *usually* exceptional, but like anyplace, they're not perfect. I've only had truly bad service one time (and I've been there at least a dozen times). In general, the staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly.
The private, 2-seat tables in the corners are PERFECT for romantic dinners.
The desserts are to DIE for.
I prefer the Court Bouillion cooking style; I think it lets you savor the natural flavor of the foods better.
They've gotten rid of my all-time favorite dipping sauce, Thai Peanut, but they still have plenty of great sauces left.
The seasonal/special dinners are always very good, too.
You really just can't lose when you go here.
(And I don't think it's too pricey at all. The Big Night Out is a GREAT deal, and you can find coupons in Clipper magazine from time to time. Definitely worth every penny. And their corkage fee is only $10 if you bring your own wine!)
One of my favorite places ever: I have been to Melting Pots around the country (Memphis, Nashville, Baltimore) and have loved every one of them. Now if they only had one in Germany.
