I would not return to Yabba Pot for three reasons: unfriendly staff, unsanitary conditions, and mediocre food (what else is there, really?) The server was on the phone while we tried to figure out the menu (much of which was unavailable), and when she did serve us, she had a terrible cough. The food may have been good when it was fresh, but it was cold. She also "washed" the dishes in a shallow sink with an old dish rag. As the only vegan restaurant in town, maybe they don't have to try too hard, or maybe they were having an off day. Either way, my wife and I will just stay home and cook our own pot of beans next time.
Love the food especially, the live kale salad, the carrot "tuna" salad and the smoothies. Just FYI, I am not a vegetarian but this restaurant makes me willing to go outside the box and give it a try. It can be meatless and tasty, who knew?
We liked the Channa Masala, the smoothies, and the vegan macaroni and cheese the best.
The most interesting aspect of this cafe is the annual "21 Day Raw Challenge" it hosts and the colorful decoration that makes you feel like you're on vacation.

MissTrans4myst - That's You - 05/08/09 (Delete) This is bogus and non-sense....the dishes are washed in the back with the pots n pans. I used to work at The Yabba Pot. Besides being Baltimore's Premier Vegan Spot for like 3 years by The City Paper.... Chef Skai is a no-nonsense employer/business woman. Food mediocre? Lies, such lies!!! ha ha nice try but ur an insincere imposter. lol this was funny to read..
I related my experience as it happened with no embellishments. Like I said, maybe they were having an off day, but it was a really off day.
MissTrans4myst - stevenq is right & that is the truth ! What you should also know is that I worked there too, what you did not see were the rats in the dry goods, the general unsanitary conditions that existed when food was prepared. Oh by the way, no one is tested for salmonella / as food handlers. Go to the Health department in Baltimore and research the number of Violations/citations made againsts the Yabba Pot - it is public information . The yabba Pot could do better only if Skai was a clean person.
