Gotta say...some of these reviews look like they're written by owners or workers. But, this place is great. The bar tenders are cool; and they serve mean drinks with a smile. I've brought dates there. The patrons can get a little sketchy, like "Mind if I dance with your date" kind-of-guys, but if you can deal, it's a lot of fun!
I love this place. Mind you, I don't "do" pubs, I don't drink beer, I'm not in the least interested in sports, but Sonny has THE best fried clams with bellies west of the Rockies. Everyone, including the servers, seemed to be having a wonderful time every time I've been there. After my first visit, I was raving about it at work, and one of my co-workers was shocked that I even knew it existed. Turns out, it's one of his all time favorite hang-outs and it just didn't seem like my type of place. When I explained about the fried clams with bellies, he stated that although their hamburgers were good, he'd never tried the clams and probably never would. I think the "with bellies" part turned him off. His loss. But if you're at all interested in that delicacy, or even just looking for a fun place to have a brew, I'd recommend Sonny's.
What a great pub made me feel like i was back in
New Zealand, except for running out of the beer i liked :-( but you did have karaoke and sing a song i like brown eyed girl. met some locals and had fun!
