I just got the sweet and sour chicken after reading these good reviews and I have to tell you, it was horrible. It went directly in my trash can... biggest waste of 12.00 ever.
I had lunch at this restaurant yesterday. The proprietor, Mr. Hwang, greeted me at the door and seated me in the beautifully-appointed dining room. The setting was restful, with soft music, table clothes, and muted decor. The food is superb. The wonton soup had 2 huge dumplings in a subtly-flavored broth that was piping hot. Next cqame the crispy egg roll, made on the premises, with little cabbage filling, but chock-full of shrimp and chicken. My entree was a delicious ginger chicken with a blend of flavors that was exquisite. The second-best part of this dining experience was the kindness and attentiveness of the owner. He told me that the restaurant has been there for 23 years, and is Dayton's oldest Chinese establishment. The chef has been with the Nanking Inn for 17 years. If you are looking for a superb dining experince, I heartily recommend this restaurant.
I could not ask for a more welcoming feeling as I walked into Nanking Inn. Wonderful food, with excellent "family feeling" service. I discovered this place 3 weeks ago and have been there 3 times with many more planned visits on the way. My only question is why hasn't this place caught on to everyone else?
