This restaurant has become so cheap, they are weighing the container that they give you to fill. You pay almost $10 for a to-go-buffet, and you are suppose to guess if it weighs too much WITHOUT A SCALE. If it does weigh too much after you take it to the counter, they charge you $4.00 more. If they give you the container, and the food fits in it and closes, how can it be too much? If you eat inside their store, you can get as many plates of food as you want. Of course, then the guy at the counter is a real jerk about it, and keeps laughing and shrugging his shoulders. Do not waste your time or money, they will just be rude and make you mad. I had just eaten there with my father, and was taking my husband home a plate. I filled it just like I always do. I think they have altered their scales to make another buck.
Peking is great chinese food. I have traveled all over and tried other chinese restaurants and Peking is still my favorite. Always greeted with a smile.
Sadly the Chinese food is mediocre at best. The "Red Neck" dishes such as pan fried link sausage rounds and country fried potatoes are better . . . but at a Chinese restaurant?
The Peking restaurants are not clean. The grease was so thick in the carpets of one location, I'm amazed they can pass the parish food service inspection. The service ranges from grumpy to surly.
I have eaten at the some of the finest Chinese restaurants in major cities around the world. The Peking should not even be compared.
Just to be sure I was not getting a skewed view, I ate four more times at various branches and found the same unpleasant circumstances. The one in Ruston was even dirtier.
For the person even casually wanting Chinese food, I would suggest you eat at any other Chinese restaurant in the area.
