Cold service and unsanitary conditions.: This is the letter we are sending to the President of Shoney's
We were dining at your establishment on December 16, 2006 around 7:00pm. The waitress brought me a glass of cola refill and I noticed a very fresh pressed lipstick marking of lips on the rim of the glass. I called the waitress over and she started wiping it off with the intention that I would use that glass. I asked her to please bring me a new glass of cola and she another waitress who was African American whose name is Foynoia* (*not sure of the exact spelling of her name) smirked at me and started to take the glasses back to the kitchen both began to giggle about the incident. I found this to be less than courteous I called the manager whose name is Diana Simpson over to let her know about the dirty glass and asked her why they were using glasses that were not clean she assured me that the glass had been washed but in my observation the lipstick lip print was too perfect and not smeared from washing so it had either not been washed or one of the waitresses had intentionally put it on there. Another couple sitting across from us also saw the lipstick lip print on the rim of the glass and made a comment about it was too obvious to not see it. A few minutes later during the meal my daughter got up to use the restroom she accidentally knocked her plate of spaghetti on the floor and bent down to start picking it up and we told her to go ahead to the restroom that the waitress would get it with a mop. The waitress Foynonia* came running up and demanded to my 15yr old daughter that she pick it up immediately and accused her of knocking the plate off on purpose. Again we had to call the manager over because at that time the waitress started to become hostile toward my child. The waitress headed toward to kitchen turned around and shot my child a bird. The manager told us not to worry that accidents like that happen but she seemed unable to control her employee. We were so devastated at that point by the service we had received of the staff that I was unable to eat . The manager asked the waitress to apologize to my daughter and us for the rude treatment that we had received but the waitress refused and walked off cursing under her breath. Since our meals werent eaten the manager apologized to us for the action of her employee Foynonia* (*spelling?) and offered the meal on the house but I was too upset to eat at that point so we told her we would never be back there again and we are definitely passing the bad experience onto our friends and acquaintances.
They are other resturants to dine at besides Shoney's.
good: I like it! It's one of the nicest and best places to eat in Franklin Co.
Good food and service 7/29/06: Found the buffet to be better than I expected. 16 in our party were quite satisfied with the food and the service.

Wow, I eat there every once in a blue moon, and have never had the issue that you have. Although the last time I was there, a little buddy "roach" was walking on one of the dividers as I was leaving. Almost got sick right there, and let the manager know about it. Having been in the restaurant business in a past life, I wasn't totally surprised to see the bug, but I still didn't like it. Our meals should have been comped, or a dessert offered. As far as the waitress your talking about, I think I know who that was, and that was just BS the way she did your child like that.. You should have went off on her and knocked the #$&@ out of her. God bless you, and have a great day.
