After the other reviews and a recommendation from a local guy, I was pretty disappointed. I had a pork sandwich which was so bland (no smoke flavor or bbq taste) that I had to add a lot of salt and sauce to eat it. I don't normally add either when I have bar-b-que. My husband had a plate and said the burgoo had very little meat and seemed to have been made mainly with cans of Veg-All. We love finding good food, so we really wanted this place to impress us; but I don't think we'll go back. On the up-side, the service was very professional and friendly and the restaurant was spotless.

The best! I especially like their mutton. They sometimes have lemon chess pie, which is very good. I moved away many years ago (now live in Las Vegas) and always go there whenever I return.

This is a great place to find real pit BBQ - not the city kind. LOL The portions are fantastic and the price is reasonable for the delicious fare. It's a little out of the way but well worth the trip. The pork chop sandwich is a meal by itself and the sauces are great. The pulled pork is extremely tender and the mutton has a good smoked flavor. The cornbread has to be some of the best i have ever had in a restaurant.
