A Honest Abes

I warn against this company. I am sorry to give a bad review, but I must. I had my chimney inspected (as I was sellng my house) after a cleaning by Honest Abe. The inspector reported a buildup of creosote and ash. Now I have to pay someone else to come out and do it again. I haven't used it once since it was cleaned. Honest Abe was not so honest, and ended up costing me time and money.

I do not normally like to give out bad reviews. However, in this case I am going to make an exception.
I just recently had completely re-roofed a large flat roof in Scottsdale. These guys came out to put a new spark arrester or chiminey cap on a chiminey on the new roof. A week later, I was on the roof and to my suprise, shock and amazement, they had replaced the old metal spark arrester with a new one and left the old one (which was cut, torn, mangled and twisted with all kinds of sharp barbs and loose sheet metal screws to cut into my brand new roof) to blow around my new roof causing all kinds of damage and potential damage not to mention the very likely possiblity of blowing off and hitting something or someone with serious damage and potential fatal consequences! It is truly sad when they left this piece of junk metal just because they were too lazy to dispose of it themseleves. I guess that they figured someone else would clean up after them. They were correct. I ended up cleaning up after them. I will never use them ever.....What ever happened to a little thing called following thru?

FOLLOW UP: These guys are listed as contractors, but when I went to look them up, I could not find them on the ROC web site.....Maybe they are there under another name???

Great service and very helpful chimney inspector!: I was extremely happy with the service I received from Honest Abes. I needed to have a chimney looked into as part of an inspection for a client on short notice. The chimney inspector came out (and arrived early!) and completed the inspection and cleaning. Afterwards, he talked with me about specific issues to pass on to my client about maintenance, usage and general safety issues. He was very informative, did a great job and I would definitely recommend the company!!
