Over the last 2 years we had Interstate Roofing replace our roof and gutters, install vinyl siding, all new windows and exterior doors, and covered our deck with "Duradeck". With every new project we had a new crew, each as professional and courteous as the last. The best part was that they were able to work around "our" timeline. It looks like they've been around awhile...I'm glad because we would surely use them again.
I had a friend who needed a roof redone before sale of the home was closed. Unfortunately, the work had to be completed before closing. She had two weeks to find a roofer and get the roof done. I called four companies for her and out of the four only two called me back. Interstate's Sean Clay understood the situation and not only gave my friend a bid on the day he did the measuring, but assured her they had the means to meet the deadline and the warranty would be transferable after she sold.
The other company gave her a bid that was $500 less than Interstate's, but I encouraged her to stick with Interstate, because of their good reputation.
She did.
She signed the contract and gave the deposit on a Monday. Materials were delivered on a Wednesday. Thursday the drop box and crew showed up. By noon on Friday the job was done. Special arrangements were made with the drop box and on Saturday you would have never known they had been there.
It was a small job of 19 squares. It had two layers of old roofing and they found a few pieces of plywood with mold. The job looked beautiful and clean up was fantastic! The black roof gave the house a whole "new" look.
My friend has since moved out and recently told me she plans on using Interstate again on her new home. This time she'll make only one call.
I guess a company can't stay in business over 20 years without earning the trust of the people they serve. They've not only earned mine, but my friend's too.
I write this on behalf of my friend, because I was asked by her to say "Thank you" to Sean, Antonio and the roofing crew. She still isn't good with computers, but she feels good about referring Interstate Roofing to anyone who wants to be confident in a "GOOD" company.
This is the worst company in the entire construction field of Portland. After a $150,000 remodel, I experienced the good and the bad of what's out there... none were worse than Interstate. They didn't fully find out how I wanted the job done; began work without contacting me while I was out of town (without even getting the required initial down payment). Installed the wrong windows, tore massive amounts of siding off the exterior without any authorization. After many mistakes, I was forced to live with my house open to the elements while they reordered etc. Enough said... horrible.
