Approximately one year ago your business installed front and rear brakes on my 4-Runner and replace the front rotors. Shortly after I left, I realized that I had the same problem as I did when I first came to you for help, pulsating from the front of the vehicle while braking. I returned to your location and your mechanics and you assured me that you could find nothing wrong. Again I left and again the pulsating occurred. I then took my vehicle to Truman Simms Alignment for them to check. They turned the rotors and the pulsating stopped. I returned to your location and told you of my experience. You listened but did not offer to reimburse me for my expense of having the rotors turned and only offered excuses for why you could not find the problem.
Unknown to me, the pulsating started again several months ago. My wife who drives the 4-Runner didnât want to tell me because she was trying to spare me any further stress in dealing with your company. When I did learn that the problem had returned again, I decided to give your company the benefit of all my doubt and make another attempt to have the problem corrected. I was in hopes that either your mechanics had received some better training or that you may have gotten some better test equipment since my last visit.
I returned and my vehicle was inspected. I was told that the rotors needed to be either turned or replaced. To turn the rotors would be $180.80 and replacing them would be $341.14 First of all, the cost that you charge for you bargain basement rotors, $100.00 is about twice as much as I can buy them for at retail. Furthermore, how do you justify $200 for labor, there are only six bolts to remove both rotors. The charge that you have to resurface the rotors of $120.00, is twice as much as new rotors and I can have them resurface at my local NAPA dealer for $12.00
Your pricing is suspiciously inflated and your inability to diagnose and repair my vehicle in a dependable and safe manner is beyond your capability and conscience. I have dealt with Midas for many years with always good results until my experience bad with your dealership. While I have no intension of ever using your dealership for any further work on any of my vehicles, I do believe that you owe me much more than I paid to you for the faulty service that I received and the unsafe condition that you left my 4-Runner in. I will forward this information and offer any other testimony to the facts of my experience to any government agency, media and/or Midas Corporate that is willing to listen.
