Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: I have lived here for 6 years, and I'm disappointed that this is the only movie theater near me. Every time I see a movie here, at one point or another, the screen doubles or the sound goes out. The floor is always sticky and the smell of the place is damp and moldy. It is also never a nice experience to have the smell of cigarette smoke drift into the theater from the lobby while you're watching a movie. The popcorn is okay, but the staff seem careless. Last time I was there and ordered a small bag of popcorn, I had so much butter at the bottom of my bag that it was leaking! To sum it up, the 35 minute drive to Carmike Cinema in Jacksonville is well worth the drive...
I am in LOVE with this theater! The Plantation is an amazing shopping/entertainment center and the theater is so clean and neat. I have lived near hear for about seven or eight years and I have always loved coming to the plantation to see movies. The staff there is always really nice and the food is really good! When I was in sixth grade, we went on a field trip there. The manager let us go up to see how the movie was played! And the theater is right next to the Emrald Isle Books and Toys store which my best friends grandparents own. Overall, great location, great staff, and great theater!!! :-)
Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: The first movie i saw here was BATMAN in the 80's with my best friend. I was 14 or 15 yrs old. Behind us was Jim Valvano the great former NCST basketball coach and his family. I have many soooo many great memories of the place and too many fun time to remember them all. This place along with the Water bogan and lighthouse putt putt are land mark that should never close for generations to have summer memories to last a life time.
