I was recommended by a friend to visit the Big Catch and man am I disappointed. Never again will we venture to this place ever - if you want a good recommendation with polite service, fast and accurate - take the extra trip and go to Plymouth NH to George's Seafood. This would be our first trip and last to the Big Catch. Waited 20 mins with staff running by us with no greeting what so ever. No sign stating if we seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Finally had to interrupt them and ask - supposedly (I guess we are supposed to be mind readers) we were supposed to write our names on a blackboard and it's first come first serve. So even if they do not have a table for 8 but have a table for 2 - you wait until after the table of 8 is seated first. Meanwhile we are listening the banshees in the kitchen and the screams from the cooks out to the waitresses. After over an hour we were seated (after we were told by the hostess they will be closing soon - I guess that was our way of being told make it fast because we aren't staying open). The service was ok. Prompt on drinks and appetizers. The entrees was a wait until we finally flagged down the waitress, asked to have our dinners cancelled so we could leave. Then was told that our orders had been waiting for her to pick them up and give to us! She went out back and that took another 10 mins for her to do that. Meanwhile the family that came behind us (a table of 5 - mind you we were a table of two adults one toddler) had all their food and was pleasantly sitting there eating. Didn't make much sense. Then heard again their would be closing so we asked for to go boxes - had to wait another 10 mins for that and then got the bill of which my understanding from the waitress is that the Big Catch has "hidden fees" much like your credit card companies. So even if the menu states a price - it may not be the price depending on what you order! To make a long story short - it was very disappointing, long, drawn out, and miserable time.
Awesome Haddock. The best onion rings thinly sliced in a light crispy batter that we jones for after they close for the winter.
View is great whether it's rain or shine. Waitstaff is excellent, and friendly.
Came by boat Had great MARGARITAS I ate so much and had food to go home with. I loved the steak tips and they were cooked to my liking and the browie sundae hit the spot I'm going back
