Since they don't accept my Visa check card I won't be eating there. The food is simply ok. It isn't worth the hassle of finding an ATM to get some cash or paying the fee to use the ATM in the restaurant. This is 2009, it is time to accept the payment method most people are using.
I ate breakfast there at around 10am. The meal I ordered was two scrambled eggs with cheese, home fries, toast, coffee and water. I sat myself at the bar and was waited on after about 2 minutes. The eggs were appetizing but there was nothing special about them and it would have been better if they mixed the cheese with the eggs instead of dumping it on top of the eggs. The home fries looked and tasted home made and were the best part of the meal. The coffee was adequate at best but I didnât like how they already had the cream pre filled on the bar (I hope it didnât go bad sitting out). Overall I paid $6.94 and left a $2 tip, a tad expensive for the meal but the restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Fort Myers. The staff was friendly to me and to other patrons, but I did have to hear the manager screaming on the phone trying to take orders. I didnât appreciate that at all. Overall I would probably eat there for breakfast again if I really needed to. Too expensive for breakfast is the bottom line.
Wow,
I have to disagree with the other posters!
I'd give them a 4 start rating for their homemade split pea soup alone! I've been trying to duplicate that taste and texture at home, but haven't quite got it.
AND, how I happened to 'find' this review? I was wondering aloud how late they might be open because I am craving their dynamite beer battered onion rings, and hubby said CALL and ask.
The Oasis is also a 'pet friendly' establishment, and it's not uncommon to see families with pets on the patio, and the servers treat the pets as customers too!
The SERVICE rates a 5 1/2!! Everyone is friendly, quick and helpful, and they take the time to get to know your name and they remember you!! This type service is hard to come by in today's world.
Keep the faith Oasis!!
