Been a client for 9yrs. When my Irish Setter pup had a rare illness, Dr. B was WONDERFUL! He took my pup in as an emergency, anytime he went lame or high fever during the illness. Dr. B. is a quiet man, so sometimes you have to ask him to express what he is thinking, but once he knows you want to know, he is VERY OPEN to explaining everything to you. I like that he is humble enough to send us to a specialist when he is unsure. Our Irish is called "telethon dog" because it would take a telethon to pay for all his problems. Dr. B. is very reasonably priced and doesn't nickle & dime every procedure. Even when we have had a difference of opinion (on vaccines) he has handled it well and tried to find a comprimise to satisfy both parties. STAFF IS WONDERFUL. Friendly, caring. The office is "lived in". But is CLEAN and has the modern equipment that is needed for procedures. I would rather have reasonable fees & a homey office (like B/W hospital) than HUGE fees and a modern, fancy office.
My only disappointment is that they are not quite in the computer age. I believe they now have client records in the computer, but you still get a hand written, carbon copy of your bill. It is difficult to read the procedures done & costs for my own record keeping.

Dr. Bonanno is the best vet around. He is not only caring about the animals but also the animals' owners. It's too bad there aren't more of him around. So many of the vets I have been to lack bedside manner and genuine heart and just go through the motions and collect the check. He and his staff are the most compassionate, wonderful people I have ever met. They were amazing when we had to put down our cat Annie last fall. It was the hardest thing my daughter and I ever had to do and they were right there with us. I wouldn't want anyone else caring for my pet. My cat Mikey has been with him since he was born and I travel over an hour just so Mikey can see him. Well worth the trip. Dr. B is the best!

Animals are welcome at this New Jersey hospital. Dr. Bonanno and the staff of Belmar-Wall Animal are compassionate people. This hospital is truly one of the outstanding animal facilities in the United States!
