I've been going to Ocean Medical since they opened in the early 1990s. I have always gotten good medical care there, but over the years I have seen a general deterioration in the quality of the front office staff. Maybe it's hard to find good medical office workers? Possibly, but the office staff at my daughters' pediatrician is excellent, as is the staff at my dentist, chiropractor, etc.
I've finall had enough of their staff, and will be looking elsewhere for a primare care provider. I am sorry to be doing this after so many years of loyalty, especially since I just moved and am now less than a mile from their office. But today when I went in, the information the woman at the front desk gave me led me to believe that I could come back just before they closed and still get to see the doctor. When I did return (at 3 minutes before their posted closing time, according to my cell phone) they had locked the doors early and refused to treat me. The "supervisor" was very unpleasant to me, and while I tried to reason with her, she was so antagonizing toward me that I went from being very calm and rational to being upset in about 2 minutes flat! So I left, and will not be returning to Ocean Medical.
This was definitely the last straw, but it was not the first time I felt frustrated or annoyed by their office staff. If you can overlook the poor treatment you may receive on your way in, you will find the medical treatment you get satisfactory, I am sure.
Excellent medical care, had no idea how much they offer there. Went to the ER, was told 6-8 hour waiting time, friend told me about Ocean, was in and out, antibiotics and other medicines in hand - yes they even have their own pharmacy on-site. Would recommend this place to anyone with a sprain, cough, need stitches. And the Doctors, awesome!
Sunday day the crew is great, Dr. Pena shows such great concern, back office was very concerned and caring her name was Judy. I was greated with care from the momment I walk through the door Rosa checked me in immed. What a change, during the week the doctors are rude and a litte to friendly you sereously need a chaparone in the rooms with these to touchy feely doctors. Good luck to the student Tracy she seemed to know what she was doing. As I was leaving Jose said how did everything go . So I will be back, but only on Sundays.
