User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsPLEASE DON'T EXCHANGE THERE!! THEY CHARGE HIGH COMMISSION WHENEVER THEY WANT, i got ripped off bad. I exchanged $100 dlls at $12.70 peso and got 1092. they chared me around 10 dollars for that.

Unfortunately i didn't read this before and got scammed its true they charge high commissions.
Your best bet is to go to the half-dozen or so that are clustered around the 99-Cent Store on San Ysidro Blvd. Make sure you go to one that advertises NO COMMISSION. There are often some guys wandering around the street nearby who work for many of the casas de cambio and they can offer you a slightly better rate than is being advertised on the signs.
