This place is terrible. I like the building/location/atmosphere, etc. They do have a few good beers. Anyone who considers this place Italian food should be bound with duct tape and thrown in Skaneateles Lake wearing cement shoes. Portion sizes are small. I ordered fried calamari to start. It obviously was not fresh, previously frozen for sure. I choked on it several times. And, who the hell puts canned banana peppers on top of calamari? Did they get that idea while eating at Subway? On the side was some watery dipping sauce a lot like that stuff you would get with a blooming onion at Applebee's... yuk! For entrees we ordered the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. This stuff was straight from the kitchens of Kraft... just nasty. And Mozzarella Chicken (chicken parm)... well this may have been Kraft as well but I'll compare it to Chef Boyarde instead or maybe Stouffer's. Even the garlic knots sucked! I've had microwaved food in a box that exceeded the quality of this stuff! I guarantee that every part of these meals, from the meat to the sauce, came prepared in cans and boxes directly from Sysco Foods. Just needed to be made into something and cooked. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, no drinks, and a modest tip... $52! Boooo!!!! Stay away from this place. Unless, you like crappy overpriced food, good beer, and believe that the Olive Garden and Pizza Hut are authentic Italian cuisine.
The food is really not that great.. tastes like pasta with a store bought jar of sauce poured over it. I could make better pasta at home. And it's waaay overpriced.
Joe's is off the beaten track by a block and a half, but this is the most fun in town. Consider following Grandma's favorites on the menu, but all the pasta and specialties are tempting. The atmosphere is lively and the service is attentive. Explore the beer options -- the list is extensive, with something new for everyone. Prices are reasonable. Things are likely to be busy, so call for reservations.
