I think Golden Animal is an amazing place. Last year in September my horse experience serious colic and was on the verge of dying. My family choice was to get colic surgery or put my boy to sleep. My family decided to get colic surgery for my horse, a very risky operation with a 50% chance of survival. The vets were awesome and took care of my horse 24/7. It was 7 months ago and my horse is alive and getting back into shape. I admire these vets with all of my heart. I would recommend this place to anyone. P.S. to all of you who keep complaining about the receptionist, I would like to tell you that she is a very stressed out person who looks after her family as well as about one hundred fifty horses.

I have two large dogs and have often encountered nervousness in vets and their techs, but not here. They treat my dogs just like dogs, not like monsters, and are rewarded with big smiles and stump wiggles. And I adore Dr Hill. He has a very realistic attitude when it comes to caring for animals which I find refreshing. One of my dogs has had some chronic health problems that stumped other vets but Dr Hill was right on top of it and had it diagnosed within weeks AND he was very understanding of financial constraints while doing so. He's also the only vet I've encountered that promotes a grain free diet rather than some crap they sell in the office. The entrance area does stink something fierce, something a couple gallons of Nature's Miracle would probably take care of and it's pretty off putting when first walking in but the care my dogs get, and the price I pay, makes up for it. As far as the receptionist goes, I've used words harsher than "rude" to describe her on more than one occasion but did have the chance to chat with her a bit awhile back and she's really very nice, just maybe not quite suited to front desk work.
