| About: | FireFly was created for all of the bodacious BBQ fans hew in New England who always thought that the only way to get good barbeque was to travel to the likes of North Carolina, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee. We've created a fun, comfortable atmosphere where you can sit back, relax and enjoy our award winning BBQ and Southern fare. We smoke our meats for up to 12 hours blending apple, cherry and hickory woods creating the signature red smoke ring signifying the low and slow process of true barbeque. Southern specialties have also found their way to FireFly's to signify our commitment to the South and their true home cooking and hospitality. |

Ooooh so bad. Undercooked fatty ribs, tough as shoe leather. Don't complain about the food because they will send someone out for damage contral who is very loud (so everyone can hear) and condescending. Never again. The place was much better as a chinese food restaurant.
Been there a few times, service and food were not consistent, surely nothing to write home about. I have had better. I guess it beats the Asian restaurant that was there before, but then again, that was condemed by the Board of Health, so it must have been a "Sweet Deal" to get that lease for sure, no matter what your peddling these days.
Firefly's in Marlborough is an iffy experience. We've been there and had great service and great food, then awful service and not-so-great food. For example, I had the best pulled pork sandwich I ever had in my life one week (and I lived many years in Texas and do not give this praise lightly) and the next week had rubbery, fatty pork ribs with gummy and overly sweet sauce. Mysterious.
The final straw was when the owner was seating people one Saturday night. He was friendly and I know he meant well, but he had a large group of friends turn up suddenly (which he was obviously not happy about, in fairness to him). Guess who got tables and guess who had to wait until they ate and left? That's right. They waltzed in ahead of us and ate. We waited, of course, along with the rest of the actual customers who'd been there before us. So we ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes, when we'd been promised a 30 minute wait. Then his friends didn't pay, because the poor man had to comp them.
Despite the generally good food (more positive experiences than not) and the really reasonable Sunday lunch buffet, we had such a negative impression from that night that we haven't been back. Customers don't like being treated like uninvited guests, Steve.
