Hi, we're an Italian rock band who will be in NY from 1st to 20th October. We have some shows booked in other NY venues and we'd like to play at Stinger's pub...Anyone knows how the booking of bands works at the Stinger's? many musicians in Ny told us to ask there 'cause it's a good place where to play...thanx

I am a regular at Stingers' Thursday night Ladies' Night/Kareoke Night. Liz the bartender has our drinks ready for us before we even order, and is extremely friendly and fun. They card everyone who isn't familiar, a fairly good attempt at keeping it an above-21 crowd. It's mostly 20-somethings, with a few older customers mixed in, and many people you see everyweek. Kareoke always has an eclectic line-up of songs and people to entertain, and the game is always visible on the strategically placed flat screen tv's. Overall the atmosphere is good natured and fun, and Stingers is a fantastic place to actually have a conversation with a friend and not leave with your ears ringing.

A place I used to go often: I finally went back after a 4 year absence on "black friday" to have a few drinks after having been to several other places. The staff has changed and aren't as nice as the guys who used to work there 4-5 years ago...but I didn't have a problem with anyone. The crowd does seem a little young but they do ID you as you walk in on a busy friday night. As for during the week, well they dont seem to care. Either way it doesn't affect me since I'm legal.

The place is low key and laid back. It's not pretentious. It's not full of skanks dancing around. It's a place for boozin.
