User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis is a very trendy sushi place, with fairly expensive prices and slightly minimal portions. It is pretty popular so you may have to wait if you get there past 8. I found even with three chefs, the service was a little slow. On the plus side, they have a reasonable deal on saki bombs, like I said it is a hip joint, and one of the chefs is a dead ringer for Ichiro Suzuki! Not sure if thats a good thing or not. Anyway, try it for yourself, If you don't think the sushi is spectacular, I would say find a better place for your money. There are plenty of sushi places in the city.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe absolute best sushi in the city: Finally! Your search for great sushi is over. Almost a weekly ritual for us, last saturday's visit was by far the best. From the ultra-fresh fish, the amazing saki and fabulous ceviche (keep it on the menu, please!), this place out does it self on each return. Besides amazing food, expect genuine, informed service and a beat that doesn't stop. It doesn't get any better than this.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest kept secret in SF: I am a native San Franciscan and recently moved down to Southern California (Laguna Beach area). Everytime I come back up to the bay I HAVE to hit up Sushi Groove South for dinner! They have good looking people there. Sophisticated, educated, and down to earth! I bring all of my friends from out of town there and they love it! The DJ spins music (not too loud) while you eat and have drinks. It's decently priced and not over-rated like some places Uuhhm...Beetlenut! The vibe the place gives off is like no other.....you stand out for being beautiful and SMART -- without even trying.
