I would not recommend it.
Grilled Cheese kids meal $7.95 C'mon! Plastic forks, no knives. My daughters crab legs meal came out 15 minutes before the rest of the meals. Way overpriced. This place has all the makings for a great place to eat but the prices are far too high for what you recieve. You eat at plastic picnic tables. Probably just a good place to drink and not eat.
This place is 100% NOT the same as it used to be. Do not waste your time, money or energy going to this place. 1.95 for a soda in a can, the food portions are small and overpriced, the staff is not friendly and the restrooms are horrible. I would not let my dog pee in something like that. This place is a run down dump. The old Outback Crab Shack glory days are over. Something happened to this place and it is truly sad. SOMEBODY, PLEASE BUY THIS PLACE FROM THE LOSER WHO OWN'S IT AND FIX IT UP!
Having lived in Florida for years and eaten at Outback Crab Shack many previous times with never any complaints we decided to take our out of town guests to there this past weekend. It was HORRIBLE.
I am not sure if the restaurant changed management but the menu had changed drastically, and NOT for the better. The deep friend platter was removed from the menu as were many of their better food selections. The portions were radically cut and prices were increased markedly.
Our group of seven adults and children was seated quickly but the tables surrounding us were NOT cleared the entire time we were there even though the restaurant was not busy at all.
The football game was blaring on ALL televisions, mostly for the bar patrons and that made for a very noisy dinner. Our waitress was unfamiliar with many food items/preparation techniques on the menu-- twice she returned to our table to re-take our order because the kitchen was apparently out of food items and the staff was unaware those items had been "86'ed". As well, the children's menu had been drastically cut back to only three choices: shrimp, chicken or gator--None of those choices appealed to my kids, who were looking forward to a hamburger.
The restaurant itself had a dirty appearance and a very musty smell, which later the waitress told us that it had been flooded a few months earlier which could account for those problems.
The ladies bathroom was disgusting! Not only was it covered in graffiti and profanities but two of the toilets were noticeably stopped up and no one had many any attempt to repair the problem or put up "out of order" signs -- the stench was terrible. Even after telling our hostess nothing was done to rectify the problem. The ironic part is that the OBCS converts into a church on Sunday mornings ---I can't imagine any congregation using that ladies room with what was written on those walls! I had a hard enough time trying to avert my 8 year olds eyes!
The view is probably the only great thing left of the OBCS. It's a shame too, because it had such a relaxed charm in previous years--we always took friends there. Now we won't be returning, instead we will go to Clark's or Whiteys.
