It's A Tradition!: The Chicken Coop doesn't look like much from the outside but once you step in you feel right at home. Dad came from Rumford Maine and our childhood memories are there. Every trip to Rumford included a visit to The Chicken Coop for whole belly clams in batter :) The salad and soup bar is a delight and the whole belly clams are to die for :) There is nothing to dislike about The Chicken Coop....the serving staff is attentive and congenial (something you don't find much these days). It is casual dining in a unique dining room, you just can't feel more at home. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rumford, it's a terrific place. Visitors will not be disappointed in their dining experience.
