Rock Bottom at the Grill House

I cannot say that I have ever really ate at the Grill House proper. Every time I went, only Rock Bottom - the bar in the downstairs area - was open at the time. Having lunch down there was nice, but I am disappointed to have never experienced the actual "Grill House."

The decor was interesting (late Caveman era) and the wait staff was somewhat competent. I have to admit, it was better when my employer was paying, although the number of orders must have overwhelmed them because it took forever to get our appetizers.

Not for the Health Conscious: I am very health conscious and try to go with whole wheat and low fat whenever possible. They have no low-fat salad dressing and no whole grain bread or rolls. The waitress was very rude when I requested these items. Other than that, I really like the place! The outside area has fun tables that are on sliders and can rock back and forth. I will be going back because there aren't very many other options in Allegan!

If you have just one meal in Allegan....: If you have relatives in town and want to take them to THE place in town, this is it! You can either go pricewy or pub fare. Portions are generous and setting is great
