I went to Evangeline's searching for a costume. I ventured upstairs to the Costume Mansion and what I saw made me feel like a kid in a candy store. There were so many costumes and accessories,it was almost overwelming!! The place was very crowded with costumes and people, and it got hot and stuffy in there real fast. There wasn't alot of room to move around, so there was alot of bumping into and squeezing around other people.
I visited on a Saturday(which was not a good idea), I would recommend visiting earlier in the day or during the week, to fully enjoy the experience.
Don't waste your time or money on this place. You pay for parking and they are so disorganized that it is a cluster. I spent two hours of my time on this place. I picked out my items in the first hour and they nicely "held" them for me. Guess what, the second I walked out the door they sold them out from under me. I came back and spent more money on parking to pick up my items and they can't find them. I spent another hour while they wandered aimlessly through the store looking for my items. They claim they can't even order it for me.
So, two hours parking and gas money for nothing but grief. I am going back to HalloweenExpress.com. It is unfortunate because I want to support local businesses but I don't support poor customer service.
You can't rate the business as a whole just on your one bad experience. They have always been very helpful when I have been in there and they have even taken me upstairs when it is not even officially open to the public. I'm sure they didn't purposely sell your items as soon as you walked out the door. If they were very crowded, which I'm sure the were, it could happen that your items were sold or misplaced. But I highly doubt that it was intentionally done. You won't find a wider selection than at Evangeline's and the quality of the costumes is incomparable.
You do realize how many people walk thru those doors in a given day & how hectic it could be.
Losing items for one customer doesnt necessarily mean super aweful BAD customer service. You jus have to remember and realize, put yourself in their shoes. Bet you wouldnt last a day in there.

Best Costumes Ever! The themed rooms make it so easy to find what you're looking for and they have the best selection of any Halloween store I've been in. The only thing that stinks about it is that they don't have a website. Since I live in a different state now it would be awesome (and a lot more helpful) if I could just order from them online. Too bad. Otherwise, I don't know anyone in Sac that hasn't been there and loved it.
