User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWe've always liked Mazatlan for the menu. As vegetarians, it's somewhat limited, but the food is generally quite good.
I've had some entrees that seemed overly oily, I must say, and once the chips seemed undercooked, which, upon inquiry, we found to be the case. Some portions do seem small, others more than adequate for the money
The salsa is good, the people friendly and we keep going back.
Way better than the Mexican place down the street, which is a typical corporate Americanized watered down version of Mexican food (not the fast food place, which everyone knows is just fast food). About equal with Bonita Guadalajara on Belgrade in North Mankato. Mazatlan is a bit spicier and uses more oil in the cooking; Bonita Guadalajara seems a bit "cleaner". Both are quite good.
User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe portions are small and the flavors are not as vibrant as I like just tomato no spice. I ordered the quesadilla and thought they must have brought me the miniature version from the kiddie menu-NOPE that was suppose to be for an adult. For the price it was just simply not worth it.

My family and I keep coming back because of the friendliness of the staff and of course the food. I recommend and will continue to recommend Mazatlan to whoever is looking for authentic mexican food and a good time.
