Cruisers seems like a good idea, until you actually eat there. It's not awful, it's not even bad. It's just very far from good. I love vintage drive ins & diners. I actually seek them out because when you find a good one, it's like striking it rich. I really hoped this would be a cool place that was either old & unchanged from it's glory days, or newer, but drawing on vintage diners for authentic inspiration. It's neither. It's that 1980s cheesy faux 50's style with pink & turquoise everything. Black & white checked floor & every stereotypical, dime a dozen framed poster of Elvis, Marylin & '57 Chevys you have seen a million times. Not one authentic piece of vintage memorabilia. No soul. Maybe there was a cool family history here in the past. Maybe the next generation didn't have a clue & botched a remodel in the 80s or 90s. It's too bad. It's boring, it's cheesy, it's actually very dirty throughout the place. All the large picture window seals are blown, so you can't see out. The owners stopped loving this place long before I had a chance to.

So that's my whine about the atmosphere. Now for the food. Everything is frozen, except for the soft serve ice cream. The burgers are those frozen hockey pucks from large bags. Not fresh or even local. I sat at the counter & watched them cook everything, so I'm not just guessing here. Every order was pulled out of the freezer & either thrown on the greasy grill or deep fried. Nothing fresh. The taste of the burger was as boring & cheap fast foody as it could be. Burger King actually tastes much better & Burgerville has this place beat in every respect. Mike's drive ins are sooo much better. I really was hoping for a Humdinger, or Dick's from Seattle, but this was just bland. They do fry a mean frozen tater tot. Our soft serve cone was already melting & dripping when they handed it to me. It fell right off the cone sideways & luckily hit my shirt & hung on long enough to prop it back into the full upright position. I'm sure with enough syrups over the ice cream or mushrooms & condiments on the burgers, people actually think they are eating something tasty, but it ain't the beef.

Like I said, it's not awful, it's just not good. It is cheap though, so I can see why people on a budget go there, but after one trip, I'll keep looking for a better burger joint in deep SE.

i use to go swimming when i was little and that was all fun n stuff but what really got me exited is after words my grandma ALWAYS took us to cruisers for an ice ream! i love that place so much and there seats are very comfy. i have been going there for quite some time and i don't plan to stop. I love the burgers so much... its true the mushroom is the best! and the quality and quantity for the prices they have are AMAZING
it rocks. :-))))
