Danley Garage World

I had my garage built by Danley Garage World and concrete work done by A&L\Regal Concrete which was who Danley uses for their concrete work. First of all, when I noticed they were not starting the garage where I was told it would be, I stopped the job. I thought Danley Garage World would have the common sense to figure out by drawings that if they built this garage it would practically be against my deck leaving me no walk able space in-between the garage and my deck, and too close to my house so I would not have enough turning radius for my vehicle to get into the garage. Thank god I was home and I noticed the problem right away. That sent up a red flag and I felt I had to stay home and watch them. The only way my garage would work would be to have it set back 4' into the rear easement. So I received an ok with all the utility companies to proceed to build on the easement.
The job was started and finished the foundation for the garage and all my concrete in 1 day *A RUSHED JOB* it was so rushed they even left an Expansion Joint on top of freshly poured concrete located on the front driveway which left an imprint. I called the concrete co. right away and said I was not happy with the job. I showed him indentations, pitted areas on the front driveway and them leaving the expansion joint on the concrete and that it had to be fixed before the concrete was sealed. He said he fixed the areas and that it will look better in a few days to give it some time so I paid him $500 to seal the driveway.
Then they built the garage which took 2 days. They left a whole bunch of garbage outside the garage on an extremely windy fall day that was flying around everywhere that I had to pick up even on both sides of my neighbors house. They told me that they would pick up the garbage in two days but they never showed up and so I held back the remaining balance. I called Danley again then they showed up the next day to pick up garbage.
I looked over the concrete and besides the bad workmanship the concrete was clearly defective from the day it was installed. It is cracking, crumbling, and coming apart with holes everywhere, pitted areas, indentations, was not racked properly, lots of rough and smooth areas, raised patch's, circular concrete spills. They even damaged my house leaving concrete all over my new screen door, siding, brick, and existing garage. I called into the office after 6 weeks expressed how upset I am and I emailed pictures. The owner could not come out until he was free so after 8 weeks that the concrete was poured Mike Fisher and Dwayne came over to my house to look at the damage to my house, how bad the concrete looks, and at the time 15' crack in my concrete (now it's 19'). They said they would come back in the spring to fix everything and they wanted their money. I did not trust them at all and said ok when job is completed to my satisfaction I will pay you. They only came back to back fill the trench on the sides of the driveway and not because my son twisted his ankle, or my vehicle got stuck a few times but because the village would not pass the job. They also tried to take the concrete of my back screen door which they gouged the finish off and it looks worse.
I am now left with concrete that looks about 50 years old, a 19' crack in backyard, a 4' crack on front driveway, 2 cracks in garage one 6'& 13' with a bunch of little cracks, concrete spills on my house. In the cold months my service door would not open at all. The topper is they just put a lien on my property! Anyone care to join in on a lawsuit?

They are not even worthy of one star. Seriously I wish I had read these reviews before I hired them. Run while you can and hire someone else! Anyone! I am ready to call the news! They have my money and are not calling me back. They are exactly like those bad used car salesman you hear about! All they care about is making the sale. Quality and customer service skills are not in their training manual!

DO NOT HIRE DANLEY'S GARAGE WORLD!
They built a garage for me about five years ago and it was the worst experience I ever had with any contractor. Like previously stated, they were mainly interested in making the sale - much like used car salesmen and would say whatever you wanted to hear but the truth. They over-promised and greatly under delivered. Countless times throughout the project crews did not show up and I was never contacted. The overall quality is terrible, the service door does not close in cold weather, the concrete foundation is all cracked, the maintance free trim is peeling and I'm having the very poor quality siding they installed replaced today by another contractor. They didn't follow specs and built the garage to close to the house. They sub-contract demo crews, foundation and asphault crews and construction crews which may be part of their lousy quality. You would be better off contracting each phase with individual companies you hire. There are plenty of good local contractors you'll get much better quality from. Call around and CHECK REFERENCES. Just becuase Danley's is a known name in Chicago does not mean they're any good with what they do. DO NOT HIRE DANLEY'S unless you want poor customer service and want to repair their mistakes down the road.
