I am a birth mother and I used Angel Adoption to help me find the right couple. I requested information from them on couples and when the packet arrived I found the exact couple I was looking for. They set up the first phone call with the family. In the packet they also had an information packet about how they can help a birth mother with college funding. When I was pregnant I was a senior in High School. My son was born 4 months before my graduation. I had to take a school semester off due to my mother and I moving to Missouri. When I signed up for college I called Sue from Angel and I asked her about they help they offer. She told me that they only help with schooling up to 6 months after the child is placed with the family. In the packet it did NOT say that and when I was still pregnant I asked about the help for college and she never mentioned a time limit. She told me to give her my information on my school and she would call me when she recieved it. She told me she would call back over 9months ago!! I have called 12 times since June and no call back! They lied to me! Sue also told me that if after the adoption I needed to get counseling that they would help pay for that as well. Well guess what happend when I called them 3 weeks after giving my son up!? Sue told me that they don't do that, that if I needed help covering counseling then I should ask the adoptive parents or to ask Lutheran Child and Family Services(the agency for the adoption). Lutheran Child and Family Services told me that Angel Adoptions told them they would help with the counseling fees. I have no helth coverage and I still need that counseling. They promised two things that I NEEDED and didn't follow through with either! And how dare they suggest I ask for help from the adoptive parents they only thing I would ever ask them to do is love my lil man no matter what but I don't actually have to ask them that because they showed their love for him before he was even born. They bought a new car for him and they look on the adoptive mothers face was the exact same one I had when we first held him right after he was born! Thats appauling Sue would tell me to ask that of them because they gave me the gift of taking my son as theirs and letting me be in his life. I am grateful for them helping me pick the right couple for my son BUT I think their looking out only for the adoptive parents and screwing over the birth mothers! I would NEVER refer them to anyone I know! I hope that in the future this doesnt happen to anyone else. Because I trusted them and they lied to me.
