I did not have a problem with the physician I saw. I did have a problem with office policies and billing practices. They failed to file the claim correctly and I even verified it with my insurance company who informed me that they used the wrong code. They wanted me to come in for unnecessary follow up visits and charge me and the insurance more money. I told them to also file with medicaid which covered that time period and they failed to do that and continue to try to charge me and will not refund the money they charged to medicaid. They were paid twice, by me and medicaid.

I must tell you the truth. I have been gravely disappointed in all but one doctor I have seen in my adult life. That's why I hesitated to start seeing Dr. McCabe when my dad recommended him.

I was sorry I waited.

Dr. McCabe is nothing if he is not a compassionate, classy physician who actually cares about his patients. He takes all the time that his patients require of him to answer their questions. If the patient doesn't seem to understand, he picks up on that and asks, "Do you understand?" If you don't, he explains it with other words until he's satisfied that you understand.

Dr. McCabe's nurses are top-notch as well. They ask how you're doing. No matter how busy they are, they take their time with you.

Dr. McCabe's office has the technology to electronically send prescriptions to your favorite pharmacy while you wait so you don't walk out of the office with a paper prescription and have the extra wait at the pharmacy. They also have an above-average, working knowledge of what is on Wal-Mart's discout generic medication list.

An additional thing that really impressed me was that I had two ear infections in my right ear within a couple weeks of each other. Dr. McCabe's staff squeezed me in their already busy schedule and really showed that they understood how miserable I was. I call that compassion. When my dad went to see Dr. McCabe a week or so later, the receptionist asked him if I was feeling better, which was most impressive to me considering the volume of patients that must pass through there each day--not only did she remember that my dad and I had been to the doctor together sevral times, but she also remembered that he was my dad.

If you are looking for a new physician because of whatever sort of disappointment you've had with other doctors in the past or because it's been years since you've been to the doctor, I implore you to give Dr. McCabe and his staff a chance. They will not let you down.

No better family practice!: Dr. McCabe and the staff of the Crystal Coast Family Practice are top notch! They are kind,courteous, and very up-to-date in their knowledge. My kids love them and it is so much easier to have a family doctor for the whole family than to go to a pediatrician and an adult doctor for us. They are even able to complete womens health checkups with Pap smears and all. It is like having all your doctors in one convenient place!
