User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI would MUCH prefer this coffee shop over a Starbucks anyday. There was another coffee shop that opened about 2 blocks away that does not stand a chance. I LOVE Black Chicken!

In a small town like Lexington, it's so great to have the little coffee shop right downtown where you can stop every morning along the way to pick up a cup of joe. The coffee is high quality, especially compared to the mud they serve in most restaurants, and the girls there are great. If you go a couple of times, they'll know your order even before you say good morning. They've got good quick breakfast foods like muffins and bagel, and plenty of comfy couches and chairs for cozy afternoon with a magazine or book.
L-O-V-E this place. Try it out.

The staff are wonderful, know almost all their customers by name, and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The atmosphere is nice too. Very cozy. Rotating artwork from school age kids to paintings or photography.
