My family ended up at American Dental Care because of our insurance, and it was a terrible mistake. I was told my teeth were in terrible condition, that I had sixteen cavities and also needed a root canal. It seems ridiculous now--I don't floss regularly, but I do always brush--but at the time it was just very shocking and I felt incredibly embarrassed. Who wouldn't? I can corroborate what a reviewer below said about the staff treating patients terribly--even if they did great work, they were absolutely unprofessional. I felt incredibly uncomfortable sitting there while the dentist and hygienist chatted away about this and that--it seemed they weren't paying a bit of attention!
They filled the "cavities" in two one hour sessions. All sixteen of them. That should have been my first clue. The root canal was botched horribly and became infected, and I shudder to think that I probably didn't need that either. Three other family members also went to American Dental, and had very similar experiences. At times they began procedures without asking--and once something has been started, there's really no going back.
Once we realized what a nightmare this place truly was, we all left American Dental for a dentist who is also a family friend, but not even partially covered by our insurance. When he checked my teeth, he found one small cavity, which he took an hour and a half to meticulously fill. It's painfully clear that all American Dental did is drill around in my teeth a bit, slap in some composite, and charge my family a load of money.
What's more, the trustworthy dentist showed me on my x-ray that they didn't properly fill the root canal, and there was a bit of space at the tips of the roots that was open. Eventually this was likely to become infected, but I didn't have the time or money to have it redone before moving to Vietnam (as an English teacher) about a year ago.
The root canal did become infected, and I'm in the process of having it treated and redone here. It's a bit intimidating, as my dentist doesn't speak English, but I still feel infinitely more comfortable here than in that place. Especially after reading reviews from people with similar experiences, I can't come to any other conclusion than that the staff and dentists at American Dental are scam artists and just plain bad people. I honestly can't imagine how they sleep at night. Please, please do yourself a favor and never set foot in their offices.
It say Emergency service. It is so not. I wait for a call back over 12 hours. Wasted a whole day in pain waiting for them to return my call. DO NOT GO HERE you will be wasting your time.
best dental experience I've had in a long time. I was able to be seen promptly when I had a tooth ache and then I was scheduled for a cleaning the next week. The receptionists were friendly and helped me out with insurance questions. My hygienist was extremely gentle and seemed interested in me as a whole person, not just a mouth to clean. I will definitely be coming back here for my 6 month cleanings. The young dentist was nice and fixed my sore tooth the same day. I haven't had any problems since. The "open" floor plan was not an issue because you're secluded from the other patients and your back is to the hallway. great experience overall
