We have been taking our pets there for over 10 years and we love them. We have taken both dogs and a rabbit and they were very well taken care of by the staff. Granted, they are a bit pricey, but I would not take my pets elsewhere. We love Dr. Geiken!
The vets here are experienced. I have never been treated so well. I used to go to another clinic for their cheap cost. My dog was sick with life threatening disease Blastomycosis. After 3 different visits with my prior vet telling me nothing was wrong with my 2 yr old rottie I took my boy to small animal on a friends recommendation. Not even knowing us they showed tremendous concern for his health. They knew that there was something wrong with him and were determined to get to the bottom of it. Even though we did not get a diagnosis that day I felt better that some one was finally going to get to the bottom of my dogs strange ailements. A few days later she called to tell me she suspected he may have blasto. We sent out a UA and a few days later he was diagnosed with Blastomycosis a rare and often misdiagnosed disease most vets know very little about this awful disease. I am greatful to have gone to a vet that knew what we were de aling with. Yes they are pricier than my original vet but had I gone to small animal off the bat I would have saved money instead of trying to cut cost and go to someone who said there was nothing wrong with my boy. I learned you don't cut cost on your animals health care. My dog is not just a dog he is a part of my family. He deserves the best treatment possible and small animal offers that.
We took our healthy cat here three weeks ago and now he has passed away. That should tell you something...
These vets are so busy trying to turn high end profit that they don't treat their customers or the clients with civility and dignity.
I'd go somewhere else. Somewhere in this town there must be a decent vet...

When I read this I was concerned until I kept reading all your ranting and raving. You're a kook! I made an appointment. If they tolerated you they can tolerate me and my special needs. Besides, my neighbors love the staff.
Veterinarians (and human physicians) don't always get it right, but that doesn't mean they are evil because they made a mistake. If they didn't get it right with your non-human companion, that is truly regretable. However, vindictiveness on your parts is even more regretable. In your case, the problem seems not to be with this clinic or its doctors, but more so with what you are holding in your heart (or maybe I should say what's missing from your heart...love, forgiveness, compassion and understanding).
Seriously mellowcarrot, why do you have it in for these people? What are some other details of your late cat? Just because the timeline is such doesn't mean he passed becasue of that visit--does it? I have had 2 longtime companions pass in the last years of very old age and they were super nice to me during those difficult times. I have been to other vets when I had my first cat and they were not as caring and professional as this place is.
