My kids love this. Both wanted to go here for birthdays. It is a throwback to something out of the 50s: lots of slides, a few carousels, and "Danny the dinosaur", a trackless train. Kids older than about 8 might be bored, but my 3 and 5 year old adore it. The "park" side is preferred to the "zoo" side, which doesn't have a great diversity.
This is one of San Jose’s landmark parks, and is probably the largest. It comes with a fully operating zoo and a play area that has rides and plenty of room for kids to run free. The park was opened in the 50’s and is showing its age in many places. I grew up in San Jose, so I have many fond memories of the place. I take both my kids, and they seem to love it. Danny the Dragon is the signature ride, a “train” that pulls cars through a path that’s lined with some pretty odd objects. The zoo is worth the price of admission, complete with lemurs, monkey, birds, cappyberras and a live jaguar.
EVERY family with your children should get a season pass. This is a great place to go and takes you right back to the 1950's when the world was a simpler place. They also have great day camps for kids.
