I visit America once a year from South Africa and I absolutely LOVE las vetas! The staff is friendly -and Andrew (the owner) treats his customers like old friends. It's a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere -and a delicious cup of coffee certainly helps a tourist ease into the chilly December weather. It's the place to go if you're in the mood to chill with your friends, grab coffee on-the-go, or relax on your own with a book!
I highly recommend las vetas if you're in the area -I haven't come across another coffee lounge like it!
Open-mic nights are always a fun time to visit :)

The Best Coffee House in Connecticut: Las Vetas is the best thing to happen to downtown Fairfield in years. A true independantly owned coffee 'lounge' with incredible character and a style all it's own. I feel it has saved our little town from becoming "mall-afied" by chain stores and superficial expensive restaurants.

This place has heart and soul, and you can tell as soon as you walk in. You're greeted of course by the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, and the whooshing sound of milk being steamed on the espresso machine (which incidentally you won't hear at Starbucks anymore - they've automated.) The decor is totally funky and ecclectic, with a very random, albiet comfortable, arrangement of furniture from the 50's 60's and 70's. You'll also notice a well worn wood floor and a beautiful vintage tin ceiling, which gives the whole place great warmth and comfort.

They also have great taste in music there, and a passion for it; you will either be treated to a live performance or some quality tunes on the overhead. So grab your favorite book or your laptop (free wifi) and head on over, you won't be sorry!

Once you get your beverage and tasty treat (they have a variety of baked goods and vintage candy to choose from) you can choose a seat from the ecclectic collection and relax and enjoy.

ANDREW'S COFFEE IS THE BEST!: Andrew's coffee is the best! By konsterlie Tasty baked goods and morsels. Exotic beans and coffee served with authentic rich atmosphere.
