Also having grown up in New Mexico, I am THRILLED to find this authentic place! We often went to Pete's in Belen. New Mexican food is different from Mexican, it incorporates green chili and sopaipillas which Mexican food does not! FANTASTIC!

Food is good, but I would never say is the best Mexican food I have had. Actually I wouldn't even call it Mexican food. I can at least give them credit for trying!

This restaurant does not serve Mexican food - they serve New Mexico food. It is typical of the kind of food you would find in Albuquerque or Santa Fe, not Mexico.

The restaurants mentioned in your review serve Mexican food, but Zia serves Authentic New Mexican food. It's not the same, but different. Zia serves food that is typical of what you might get in Albuquerque or Santa Fe.
