Soloman Pond Theater Needs Help!: When this Theater first opened a few months years ago, it was the place to be. Comfortable reclining seats, and reliable courteous service, cleanliness, and not to mention an awesome sound and projection system, made it a cut above everyone else. Now that they have changed hands, everything needs help. The prices have gone up too. I figure if I am going to pay the price of a night out with my family, I should have to worry about dirty bathrooms, rude attendants, or volume turned up so loud that the sound gets distorted. I went to watch Episode III Star Wars, and the film cut out three times for 1 to 2 seconds. The seating was so hard that after 2 hours my back was hurting. I looked over and saw someone checking their watch. I felt like I was in the 99 Cent Theater. Untill they improve, I'm going else where to find a theater that will give me a superbe comfortable courteous expirience worth the money.
When Good Goes Bad: Hoyts Cinema has been my "local" movie theater since it's debut in the Solomon Pond Mall some years ago. However, in the past 24 months, the Cinema obviously underwent some sort of Management change over? Sadly, it was for the worse!! Ticket prices went up, staffing went down, lines drew longer, the theater (as a whole) became more unclean, the old, comfortable seats were replaced with cheaper, uncomfortable ones, and the consession stand vendors were changed. Favorites were gone, replaced with higher-priced non-options. Overall, the joint is just a mess! I dread now having to resort to a visit here as a "last and final option" for seeing a new film. Whoever is running this place should be fired and pronto.
