| About: | Knucklehead's Saloon is as real as a bar experience could get. Patrons love the vintage chairs and rough lumber bar stools while sitting at long tables. Bar food is offered to keep the energy going and drinks keep the spirits high. They also have a store selling Knucklehead's merchandise. To top it all, they regularly have musicians come in and play some great tunes, especially blues. Check the website for information on events. |

The BEST hangout in Kansas City. Amazing music, great atmosphere and friendly people - the staff and the patrons. I have had so much fun every time I've gone here. My favorite place hands down!
Two experiences - too many distractions both times.
The first time, a drunk guy kept yelling out to hear the artist play 'The Doors.' The artist had to finally respond (since Knuckleheads would not) that they did not play any Doors.
The second time, with James McMurtry, kids playing on their cell phones and smoking cigarettes were blocking the view. After nothing was done to correct the matter, I gave up and left early.
Call me a party-pooper..
I may try it again, but if you want more than a party atmosphere - like being able to see and hear the artist, for example - I would not expect too much. Continual distractions are part of the atmosphere here, at least in my (rather limited) experience.
Two Stars only because of the great artists they often feature.
Good Times, every time!: This I have found is the best spot for a music experiance. The mixed styles of artist and quality of talent keep me drifting back to that bar under the bridge. Thanks Frank and Mary.
