Until recently, Unwine'd was my favorite dining establishment. Everything about it was great: the food, the wine, the atmosphere, the staff. I've been recommending this place to family and friends alike for a long time, but I won't be doing that anymore after my experience there the other night!

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to dine there with a couple of friends and my boyfriend -- who had never been to the Unwine'd before. I had been raving about this restaurant to him, and was so glad that we were finally going there for dinner.

Upon arrival, we saw that it was busy, but that's nothing new. We were actually prepared for a lengthy wait for a table, and requested menus to look at so we could order once we were seated.

Once we had our table, the waitress did not take our orders for dinner. She brought out wine to sample... for 2 out of the 4 guests. It was like my boyfriend and I weren't even there! Finally, I piped up and said "Excuse me, may I try some of that too?" It was SO awkward!

Our waitress took forever to get around to taking our dinner orders. By the time our orders were "in" the kitchen had closed, even though we were seated well before 11PM. Instead of owning up to her mistake, she "passed the buck", blaming the chef for not being willing to stay late. The chef had every right to close down the kitchen on time! The waitress was in error for not taking our dinner orders in a timely fashion.

When she brought out the check (which wasn't cancelled or even reduced though the evening had been a disaster for us), she brought out a gift certificate as an apology... for the other couple! Again, it was as if my boyfriend and I were not even there.

I wish I could've eaten the egg on my face... at least then, I wouldn't have gone hungry! I guess it's just as well that there was no consolation GC for my guy and I... after all, we sure as hell won't be making dinner plans at the Unwine'd ever again.

Amazing food, wine, service and atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience here- or a bad meal. The waitstaff are very friendly and knowlegable about the wine list.

Not impressed with the food, very disappointed in the fact that everything had to be ordered seperately, and the salads had only one dressing. What is up with the fondu? When our meals arrive, they were cold and tasteless. You can get as good as wine and much better food for less in other places in Manchester, you can also have a waitstaff that will smile and at least pretend they are glad you are there. I would not recommend this place to anyone, I wouldn't want them to feel disgusted as we did. I hope that in this changing economy they will take into consideration their pricing and the portions, or they too will be like alot of other places OOB!! Good luck to them, they need it!
