I am a Sushi-Freak, a Big one. I'm also very picky when it comes to it. For me, Sushi has to be authentic, in another words, no fusion Sushi of any kind, PERIOD. I used to live in NYC and actually knew about this restaurant but because of the reason I never even had dare trying it despite of the numbers of good reviews I've heard from ppl I know of. I was happened to be in the area this time. A friend of mine talked me into it & brought me there at the Village location. Boy, was I wrong! First of all, their Caipilina is one of a kind, not too sweet or too strong, just right! We had the Assortment of 4 Seviche as an appetizer. For Sushi, I had Green Envy, my friend had Rainbow Dragon. We both had the same entree: Miso-Marinated Chilean Sea Bass. I was extremely skeptical of the funky-named rolls but proved I was wrong, both were literally melt-in-your-mouth, definitely the best fusion sushi-rolls I've ever had! The dipping came with it was silky-smooth texture with a little kick of spice...phenomenal! The Sea Bass was wonderful, too. Although I am not usually a big Sea Bass fun as the fish usually is kind of dry & has not much flavor to it, this Miso-Marinated Sea Bass changed my mind completely. It was well-seasoned, sweet but not over-seasoned or fishy, just right. Vegetables came with it was also lightly seasoned & just the way I wanted them. For Dessert, I had Trs. Leite, my friend had Warm Chocolate Banana Cake - now, don't be fooled by the naming of this - I was seriously regretted that I should've ordered this after I got tasted a little bite. Trs. Leite was wonderful, too, silky rich flavorful cheese cakes with cachasa infused mango on the side, but I am a chocoholic. The Banana cake was rich, velvety-smooth,and almost flourless, soooo yummy. I'd definitely order this Banana Cake next time. OK, sure, the price is high(er), the place was packed & busy, also kind of noisey as we went there on Saturday night but overall, I had wonderful time - the food was great, the server was courteous, attentive & very helpful. Sushi Samba, the name tells you all and certainly lives up to its name! I'd defnitely go back there again when I'm in the town next:)

Food was good...: And that was the only good thing about it. Went there on a thursday and it was so noisy. As good as the food was the portions were for a bird and prices way too much. It was tasty but unless you are willing to spend a lot you'll walk out hungry.
