This place has great pizza for a decent price. The service is ok but a little slow. Overall the food is pretty good and cheap too!

just got back from pappou's. while it may not be for everyone, our experience was that it was a great little dive bar with a decent beer selection and decent bar food. there were no specials on the menu tonight (monday), but the tab was inexpensive (under 30 for 2 people, 2 drinks plus food, a decent cheesesteak although wings were a little on the small side). they only take cash, but have an atm in case you need it. overall, it's what you see is what you get. i'd go back and would recommend it to people looking for a dive bar experience.

First of all, I grew up in Springfield and Pappou's was THE place for underage kids to get beer. It also had a reputation for having a bunch of creepy, dirty old men at the bar and being owned by "scum" so it's no surprise that I chose to stay out of there.

I went in to support my friend's new job and as expected, my first experience at Pappou's was TERRIBLE. When I went in and sat at the bar, not only did the woman NOT come up to offer me a drink, she also acted like it was the last thing on earth she wanted to do. I actually had to get out of my seat to ask her for a drink and a menu. I sat with my menu for a good 15 minutes before I asked her to come over once again so that she could take my order. I think she only rolled her eyes a few times.

Finally my order was taken and while I waited, I noticed two small children running around in the kitchen. How unprofessional and dangerous for those kids. A kitchen, let alone a bar, is no place for kids. The food was good, but only because my friend cooked it. The bartender never came back to fill my drink or ask if I needed anything else. I probably could have left without paying because she never asked if I wanted to do that either!

I went in a few more times and although the food was always good, everything else SUCKED. Every single time I went in, I had to ask to have an order taken and ask to pay. The rest of the staff are rude and act as though you are bothering them when you are only asking them to do their jobs.

Bottom line is that this place has decent food, but IT'S NOT WORTH IT! You aren't welcome unless you are a 'regular' and you feel it as soon as you walk in.

STAY OUT!
