About:Following an extensive renovation, this old movie theater reopened in 1998 as a venue for national and regional country, bluegrass, rock and folk bands. Great effort went into restoring the original luster of this art deco theatre. Smoking is prohibited in the dining area and the balcony of the State Theatre. The kitchen offers burgers, nachos, enchiladas and vegetarian entrees. Pasta dishes are also available. All these make this venue a delightful one.

The State Theater rocks!!! How people can complain about this place is beyond me. Friendly staff and they actually have enough class to stock non-alchoholic beer for designated drivers. I saw LEZ ZEPPELIN a year or so ago and they sound as good as Led Zeppelin. In fact, they sound better since you're not 200 yards back surrounded by screaming hippies. I HIGHLY recommend the State Theater and the acts they bring in like LEZ ZEPPELIN. Haven't tried the food, but who goes to a theater to see a music act and buys food? That's like getting nachos at the bowling alley and complaining that they aren't as good as the ones at your favorite Mexican restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. Come on! For some laid back diversion in an uptight geographical area (I'm talkin' about DC metro) go to the State Theater and see an act that appeals to you. I love the place!!!!!!

Every show I have seen here has had awful sound. Consistently the guitar and vocals are buried under the bass and drums.

Legwarmers were great, but venue was so so. Bartenders and event staff were awful
