Would definitely go back: Geranium offers some interesting mix of dishes from different parts of the world from morrocan moussaka to pierogies. Loved their pierogies. Personally I felt the serving size was very adequate and I could explore the dessert menu. I've always like restaurants tucked away in residential neighborhoods, so the location is great. Its a great little informal vegetarian restaurant.

Needs more thought: The lighting is soft, the meat case...interesting. But something was off. When we were given a selection of seats the most inviting was one tucked against the glass case by the wall - the seating is weird. If you're coming for vegetarian food, though, seating comes second; just like with indy films, you didn't come for the cushy comfort and ambiance. So let's talk food. The "meatloaf" is served over mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy and sided with roasted brussels sprouts. Sounds great, but the lentils in the meatloaf and the brussels sprouts were undercooked to the point of being not quite edible. Once the place filled up it got harder to hear conversation at our table and the service slowed a lot. One positive - the wine was nice and our sorbets were tasty. Okay - that's two. Moral to the story: if the big draw of a restaurant is the type of food, surprise us with the better than expected (especially for the price) and not so much like the same dog food, and make us feel like we're in a real restaurant, even allowing for uber-funky Bernal Heights.

Satisfaction for veggie-bees!: Great food, THOUGHT small portions. Delightfully served in a nice ambience. Geranium is a great veggie alternative. Really nice wines too.

Service was slow...seemed under-staffed....but the server taking care of us clearer made up for loss customer service!
